West Los Angeles College women's basketball standout Cheyanne Whitfield has signed with California State University, Monterey Bay to continue her academic and athletic career.

Whitfield, a 5'9" forward originally out of Lynwood High School, was a first-team All-Western State Conference South Division honoree for the Wildcats this past season (2023-24) after averaging 17.7 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 2.6 steals over 28 games.

She is set to play next season for Cal State Monterey Bay head coach Sarah Hopkins-Chery. The Otters compete at the NCAA Division II level as a member of the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
