FULLERTON – Another impressive West Los Angeles College men's basketball season came to an end with the No. 8-seeded Wildcats' 87-68 loss at No. 1 Fullerton College on Saturday in the regional finals of the Southern California playoffs.
Jase Stewart came off the bench to score a team-high 16 points in the loss. He was a perfect 6 for 6 from the field and grabbed 4 rebounds. Malachi Knight added 14 points while Michael Baba totaled 11 points and 6 rebounds.
Head coach Anthony Jones once again led the Wildcats to a solid season. West LA earned its eighth straight postseason berth and won 20+ games for the sixth time over the last seven seasons.
West LA can stake claim to handing Fullerton its lone loss this season when the Wildcats took down the Hornets 92-86 at home on Nov. 19. West LA came up just a win short from advancing to the 3C2A State Championships for the first time since 2022.
The Wildcats end the 2025-26 season with a 21-9 overall record. West LA finished second in the Western State Conference South Division with a 10-4 mark.
